5-10-2006 Another round of tax breaks

The Republican majority seeks to pass another round of tax breaks, this time sixty-nine billion, with the vast majority not only going to the super rich but, the legislation also included a controversial provisional earmark that deceitfully altered the Roth Tax Free IRA program.

However; the Republican Party has chosen to allow the super rich to convert their taxable IRAs into Roth Tax Free IRAs; making this program available to taxpayers at all income levels. Even CEOs who make forty-four million dollars a year can now avoid paying taxes on their IRAs simply by converting them. The legislation also includes over four billion dollars in tax breaks to oil companies and seeks to eliminate the tuition deduction for those students struggling to pay their bills.

Again, this new law is specifically designed to benefit those who need it least
